Notes:
Bristol started out as a linked-numbering scheme incorporating 14 physical exchange areas (15 from around 1981) collectively known as "Bristol".
Abson, Avonmouth, Bitton and Clevedon lost their names and became "Bristol"
Not sure whether any other exchanges which ended up in 0275 lost their individual names and later regained them.
Not sure whether Flax Bourton, Lulsgate, Pill went first to 0272 xxxxxx or directly to 0275 xxxxx.
All areas have expanded as required on to extra numbering ranges.
I do not have exact dates for these renumberings. I anyone can provide these, please e-mail me. Many thanks.
0275 xxxxxx changed to 01275 xxxxxx on "PhONEday" when 0272 xxxxxx moved to 0117 9xxxxxx.
